When you replace your smartphone, updating your Okta security settings is essential to maintain access to your account. Follow these steps to add your new device and remove the old one.
JMU IT also recommends enrolling at least two devices—such as a phone, tablet, or Yubikey—in Okta Verify or Okta FastPass. While not mandatory, doing so ensures you have multiple secure access options and the ability to use self-service tools.
Important:
Do not reset or return your old phone just yet! Without it, you will not be able to update your Okta security settings.
If you no longer have your old phone accessible, please contact the JMU IT Help Desk via phone at 540-568-3555 for further assistance.
