Changing a Label

  • If you want to change a label from a lower-tier to a higher-tier label (i.e. from Protected to Highly Confidential), then you can apply the label as you would for the first time.
  • If you want to change a label from a higher-tier to a lower-tier label (i.e. from Highly Confidential to Protected), then you will be prompted to provide a justification for the change once you select the new label. This reason will be logged for any future audit purposes. Once you provide the reason, then you may proceed to applying the new label.
