Details
The following grace periods apply to JMU populations when exiting the university:
- Undergraduate and continuing education applicants lose all access two weeks after the start of the semester for which they applied and were not admitted or did not accept admission to JMU.
- Graduating students retain eID and MyMadison access for 60 days from their completion date. Office 365 access (including access to Dukes email) is removed five months from completion date.
- Full-time faculty retain eID access to MyMadison, email, and the wireless network for 30 days. Core system access (HR, FIN and SA) and access to network files shares are removed immediately.
- Adjunct faculty retain access for 365 days if contract for employment is renewed. If contract for employment is not renewed, access is retained for 130 days. This includes access to log into JMU computers, email, wireless networks, network file storage, MyMadison, and Canvas. These grace periods support the cyclical nature of adjunct employment and the ability for adjunct faculty to prepare courses before the start of the semester.
- Staff lose all access immediately upon termination, except for MyMadison access, which is retained for 30 days after termination.
- Affiliates lose all access immediately upon the end of contracted services with JMU.
- Student employees, teaching assistants, and graduate assistants lose access to all systems related to their JMU employment immediately upon termination. They retain access to student systems as long as they remain a student.
