Cannot open files from OneDrive app

Details

Unlink and resync JMU account with OneDrive app:

  1. Go to the System Tray in the bottom right corner and single-click on the OneDrive app icon (blue cloud icon).
  2. Click on More...
  3. Click Settings.
  4. In the Account tab, click Unlink this PC.
  5. Click Unlink Account button.
    • (A local copy of all of your files will be saved in your user folder.  You won't lose anything by doing this.)
    • To find it, open File Explorer, and go to This PC>OS(C:)>Users>your eID>OneDrive - James Madison University. Click on the folder icon with this name to access the previously synced files.
  6. Go to the search field by the Start button (magnifying glass) and search for OneDrive Desktop App (not OneDrive for Business).
  7. Open OneDrive Desktop App and enter your JMU email and password and verify with multi-factor authentication when prompted.
  8. Click Use this folder and click the next arrow until you see Open my OneDrive.
  9. Click Open my OneDrive and view your files as they sync.
  10. Up-to-date and synced files located in One Drive - James Madison University with the blue cloud icon accessible from the System Tray in bottom right corner or in the left pane in File Explorer.
