You can attempt these steps on your Mac if you receive this error message.
  - Open System Preferences
  - Click on Sharing
  - In the left field, uncheck Remote Apple Events 
 - Note: This may not always be on by default
  
   - Open 'Activity Monitor' by Spotlight Search (command + space bar)
  - Search for ssinvitationagent in the top-left search bar within Activity Monitor window
  - If it is listed in the running processes, highlight the process and click the 'X' button at the top of Activity Monitor to Force Quit
  - Attempt to run Lockdown Browser again

 Even if there are no applications that are currently running on the Mac, that 'SSInvitationAgent' process can still be running in the background to enable (primarily messaging) applications to work properly when you open them back up.
 When attempting to launch Respondus Lockdown Browser, Error: "Some blocklisted applications are running...SSInvitationAgent"
