Canvas Notifications Being Sent to Junk Mail

Details

If your Canvas notifications are automatically being filtered into your Junk Mail folder, please create a new Rule in your Outlook settings using the following steps:

  1. Open Outlook settings
  2. Select View all Outlook settings
  3. Click on Rules
  4. Add a new rule as follows...
    1. Name: "Canvas Notifications," or any preferred name
    2. Add a condition: select "From" and then type the Canvas notifications email (notifications@instructure.com) into the sender field
    3. Add an action: select "Move To," then select the desired folder for Canvas emails (e.g. Inbox).

Symptoms

  • Why are my Canvas emails automatically filtering to my junk mail?
  • Canvas notifications sorting to Junk/Spam
  • Emails from notifications@instructure.com moving to Junk
