Details

Occasionally, the Microsoft Teams Application on either an Apple Mac or PC device can have issues with certain functions that may be solved by simply closing the App and restarting, or looking to see if an update is available. When that doesn't work however, and issues persist in opening internal Apps, shared documents, Tabs, or other similar features it might be required to clear the internal Teams Cache of the Application.

Below are the instructions on how to remove the Application Cache for Microsoft Teams for either a Mac or PC. Pay close attention to what version of Teams you are using (Microsoft Teams Classic or New Teams) as the steps are slightly different depending on what version you are using.

Method 1: Reset the app

Note: When you reset the Teams app, the app data will be deleted. This includes any personalization settings that you might have configured.

  2. Select Apps > Installed apps, and then type Microsoft Teams in the search box.
  3. Locate the New Microsoft Teams app from the results, select the More options button (...) on the right, and then select Advanced options.
  4. In the Reset section, select Reset.
  5. Restart Teams.

Method 2: Delete the files

  1. If Teams is still running, right-click the Teams icon on the taskbar, and then select Quit.
  2. Open the Run dialog box by pressing the Windows logo key
  3. In the Run dialog box, enter the following path, and then select OK.

  5. Restart Teams.
