How to Sync my Mac Password with my eID Password

Details

  1. For the best results and if you are not connected via Ethernet (or are working remotely), Open and connect to JMU's VPN Client.
  2. Put in your eID and current MyMadison Password and authenticate with mult-factor authentication
  3. Once connected, open Kerberos (either via Spotlight search or the key icon on top of your desktop)
  4. Log in using your eID and current password (if already signed in to Kerberos, click sign out and then log back in).
  5. Kerberos will recognize that your current device login does not match your updated MyMadison password and will offer to sync them for you.
  6. Enter your current eID password in the first box, followed by the last password you used to sign in (old password)
  7. You should then get a message that your password has been updated and your device is now synced.

Symptoms

  • I changed my eID password but my JMU-Owned Mac is only taking my old password
