Details

When applying to The Graduate School, you do not receive an eID until you have been formally accepted into the program. Once that has been completed, you will receive an email that provides direction on how to activate your eID, access your JMU Dukes email, as well as set up your password and enroll in JMU's multi-factor authentication.

Be aware that while you may receive your Acceptance into your program, it may be several days before receiving a follow-up email to activate your eID, as each Graduate School enrolls their upcoming class differently and unique times. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your Application, eID activation, or your specific School, please do one of the following:

1. Check your application status on the Status/Activity Page, which can be accessed here.

2. Additional information about the elements of the application and admission process can be found at:

  • The Graduate School website
  • Frequently Asked Questions website
  • Email: grad@jmu.edu
  • Phone: (540) 568-6131
